Former Filer & Stowell Site Transforms Into Affordable Housing Community

The Corliss is nearing completion in Milwaukee, with 576 affordable housing units planned across eight buildings, including 144 units for seniors. The project’s financing reflects the complexity of building affordable housing amid rising construction costs, interest rates and growing statewide demand. On the former Filer & Stowell manufacturing site, the development also incorporates neighborhood-focused elements such as density, outdoor amenities and a bike trail connection.
