Affordable Senior Housing Project Advances in Machesney Park
Machesney Park Senior Commons has been awarded Low-Income Housing Tax Credits through the Illinois Housing Development Authority, marking a significant step forward for the planned 40-unit senior apartment community. The project, proposed by Bear Development and Greenprint Partners, will be located at 7633 Perryville Road and designed for residents ages 62 and older. Village officials described the award as a major milestone for a high-priority residential development that has been in progress for roughly six years, with construction expected to start in 2027 and residents moving in by 2028.
